We visited with Moses Kashem and Mary Johnson of the The Urban Vegetable Project at Florida International University in North Miami, Florida. The project is supported by the US Department of Education Upward Bound Math-Science program that focuses on getting high-achieving, low income students into college. The high-schoolers are able to apply their math and science skills to the farm. Currently the farm is using cover crops to rejuvenate their soil in the off season. Fall planting is coming up quick and we were happy to share some good conversation and Baker Creek seeds with them!
